International Exhibit Featuring Water Philippines, RE and EE PH 2019

Pasay City, 20-22 March 2019 -- the 5th edition of Water Philippines and the 2nd edition of Renewable Energy (RE) and Energy Efficiency (EE) Philippines 2019 was held at SMX Convention Center, Pasay City. The conference and exhibit showcased a 2-in-1 mega event in one venue.
In relation to the event’s objective of supporting the country’s commitment towards water sustainability and energy security, there was nothing more timely than the addressing the current issue of water shortage in some areas in Metro Manila this March.
The event was organised by UBM Asia, the largest trade show organiser in Asia. Three years ago, they helped almost 50,000 exhibitors in their business in 11 niche sectors. On the same year, UBM Asia received the “Asia’s Most Reliable Trade Show Organiser Award” at the Most Valuable Companies Award in Hong Kong.
The three-day event had over 8,536 trade visitors and 435 exhibiting companies and brands from 36 countries. Providing a venue for both local and international companies, the exhibit had 9 international and regional pavilions of Mainland China, European Union, Korea, Malaysia, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, The Netherlands and USA.
Presidential Spokesperson, Atty. Salvador Panelo led the Opening Ceremony. In his speech, he mentioned the Philippine government’s strategy in addressing the recurrent water crisis and their action plan of establishing one department exclusively for water.
Atty. Vicente Joyas, President of the Philippine Water Works Association (PWWA) stated, "We hope that everybody shall work together and be united in undertaking a task which will provide for the services in order to provide adequate water to all Filipinos in the light of the climate change.”
The event also offered technical lectures by industry experts with the theme "Addressing Climate Change Through Resilient, Sustainable Water and Sanitation Development".
For Water Philippines 2019, there was an expert dialogue session titled “Sustainable Water Services For all” and "Towards Efficient Water Resources Management". Atty. Patrick Ty, Chief Regulator of Metropolitan Waterworks and Sewerage System (MWSS) stated, "I would like to commend Water Philippines Expo for gathering all international and local water players to share their technologies, solutions and best practices that can potentially help us in solving the water challenges that we are currently facing."
Water Philippines 2019 is co-located with the Pumps and Valves (P&V), Pipes and Tubings (P&T), and Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (RE EE) Philippines 2019. These were supported by the Philippine Water Works Association (PWWA), Philippine Society of Sanitary Engineers (PSSE), Society of Master Plumbing (PISMAP), Philippine Energy Efficiency Alliance (PE2), Renewable Energy Association of the Philippines (REAP) and Philippine Independent Power Producers Association (PIPPA). Water Philippines 2019 is also presented along with World Water Day 2019.
For Renewable Energy (RE), the topic discussed was "Renewable Energy Act of 2008: Implementation, Updates & Opportunities". For Energy Efficiency (EE) Conference, they had the lecture titled "The New Energy Efficiency (EE) Law as Game Changer in the Philippines".
Executives and experts in the Water and Energy industries from both private and public sectors were present during the Opening Ceremony and at the conference proper. They are Engr. William Juan (President, PH Integrated Society of Master Plumbing, Engr. Franz Ramos (National Media Relations Officer, PH Society of Sanitary Engineers), Mr Edgar Lopez (Vice President, National Affairs, PH Water Works Asso.), Atty. Vicente Joyas (Pres., PH Water Works Asso.), Mr Alexander Ablaza (President, PH Energy Efficiency Alliance - PE2), Mr Erel Narida (President, Renewable Energy Association of the PH), and Mr Dexter Deyto (General Manager, UBM Exhibition PH, Inc.).
Water Philippines 2019 Expo is the country’s fastest-growing B2B water technology event where they presented the best water technologies and solutions for water supply, sanitation, industrial wastewater and purification.
In the energy industry, RE EE Philippines 2019 brought thousands of opportunities to develop the Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency sectors as they promoted new advancements and innovations on solar power, energy efficiency and green technology.
The conference and exhibit is also the first time that Environment & Water business mission under the EU Business Avenues in South East Asia Programme brought over 50 European companies to Water Philippines 2019 Expo. The EU Business Avenues in South East Asia Programme is an initiative that is funded by the European Union that helps European companies in establishing long-lasting business collaborations through business support services.
