Mati City gets P152-M worth of infra projects
The city government of Mati in Davao Oriental received a total of 12 projects from the Rural Enterprises and Agriculture and Fisheries Productivity (I-REAP) program of the Department of Agriculture 11 (DA-11).
Amounting to PHP152 million, the projects under the DA's Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) consisted of farm-to-market roads and other infrastructure crucial for agricultural development.
In particular, the lone farm to market road project under the program costs PHP97.5 million, while the nine portable water systems cost PHP46.9 million, and other infrastructure costs PHP8.4 million.
Funding was also provided to Mati Davao Oriental Upland Multipurpose Cooperative (MADOUMPCO), which received PHP4.49 million for its Fresh Green Cardava Trading Enterprise.
Mati City Mayor Michelle Rabat thanked DA's PRDP for its continuous support to the city.
She also touted the city's feat in winning the best MRDP-implementing (Mindanao Rural Development Project) LGU from 2007 to 2013.
“We will do our best to comply with all the requirements needed for the completion of the said projects which are funded by the World Bank,” the mayor said.
Meanwhile, DA-11 Regional Technical Director Marila Corpuz, PRDP-Regional Project Coordination Office (RPCO)-11, thanked local officials for their positive response to the program and in accepting the challenge to implement PRDP projects.
