Issue 2

With the first half of the year just about ready to turn the page, your Philippine Resources Journal is also ready to serve you a fresh batch of the biggest and latest news and discussions on the country’s mining, construction, and allied industries with Issue 2 2024.

On the cover, we pay homage to Orica Philippines, which also celebrates its 55th anniversary. Our writer Edison Mating expounds on Orica’s legacy of safety and quality, sustainability efforts and innovations, its support for communities and future generations, its commitment to diversity and inclusion, employee loyalty and organizational structure, and its future growth and expansion. The story starts on page 50.

As for our columnists, Atty. Fernando “Ronnie” Penarroyo examines the challenges and outlook for the Philippine construction industry starting on page 6. He notes how the country can overcome a labor shortage, cost overruns and construction delays, corruption, and other emerging issues in the sector.

Atty. Patricia “Trisha” A.O. Bunye, meanwhile, discusses how stakeholders can find a way forward for Philippine mining, on the heels of the recent forum hosted by the Department of Environment and Natural Resources and The Stratbase Group (see a related article on page 34). She also mentions the Sweden-PH High-Level Sustainable Mining Forum, where more solutions to promote and develop the industry were tackled. Open to page 14 to read more.

These and lots more stories are in the 76 pages of PRJ Issue 2 2024, which you can pick up free online through our website and through our partner companies and events. Thanks for your constant support, and see you in the next issue!
