The 70th Annual National Mine Safety and Environment Conference (ANMSEC) is set to take place on November 19 to 22, 2024, at the CAP-John Hay Trade and Cultural Center in Baguio City.
The said event will be spearheaded by the Philippine Mine Safety and Environment Association (PMSEA), the country’s leading advocate for occupational safety, health, environmental management, and social responsibility in the minerals industry, in coordination with various key stakeholders, including the Department of Environment and Natural Resources-Mines and Geosciences Bureau (DENR-MGB), the Chamber of Mines of the Philippines (COMP), the Philippine Society of Mining Engineers (PSEM), as well as mining companies, quarries, mineral processing plants, suppliers, service contractors, and various professional organizations.
This year’s conference marks a significant milestone in the history of ANMSEC, highlighting seven decades of dedication to improving safety standards and environmental practices in the mining industry.
The theme for the event, “Endurance and Innovation for Sustainability”, reflects the unique challenges faced by the mining industry in the Philippines and the need to navigate these challenges by embracing innovative and sustainable practices and solutions towards achieving responsible and sustainable mineral resources development.

The culminating activity in the celebration of ANMSEC is the Testimonial Dinner and Annual Awards Night. The recipients of the 2024 Presidential Mineral Industry Environmental Award for best mining practices in the country will be awarded to mining, and mineral processing companies engaged in mineral exploration, quarry operation, surface mining operation, underground mining operation, and mineral processing. Winners of the 2024 Best Mining Forest Contest, Safest Mines Awards, and Best Mines’ Personalities will also be awarded during the said event.
