Nickel Asia, Mapúa launch NAC START internship program to train future industry leaders

Nickel Asia Corp. (NAC) continues to invest in the country’s future workforce through the NAC START (Sustainable Training and Resources for Talent) Internship Program, formalized through a strategic partnership with Mapúa University.

The ceremonial signing brought together leaders from both institutions, including NAC Vice President for People Transformation and Workplace Ma. Fatima C. Mijares; Emerging Power Inc. Chief Operating Officer and Officer-in-Charge Rafael Macabiog; Mapúa President and CEO Dodjie S. Maestrecampo; Mapúa idCALL Head and Assistant Vice President Engr. Rosette Eira E. Camus; and other university executives and faculty members.

Running from May to August 2026, the eight-week program will provide students with industry immersion across NAC Group operations, combining hands-on experience, mentorship from seasoned professionals and real-world insights into responsible natural resource development and energy projects. As part of the initiative, Emerging Power Inc. will open its clean energy operations to interns.

More than an internship, NAC START reflects the company’s broader sustainability and ESG goals — future-proofing the organization while investing in young professionals and reinforcing NAC’s position as an employer of choice and a recognized Great Place to Work.
