On November 19, 3pm Baguio City, Diwata - Women in Resource Development, Inc. (Diwata) will be conducting a bougainvillea planting activity on the occasion of the Philippine Mine Safety and Environment Association’s (PMSEA) 66th Annual National Mine Safety and Environment (ANSMEC) Conference.

All-female mining group Diwata will be participating at the 66th ANSMEC through a Bougainvillea Brigade in partnership with the Office of the City Mayor, Benjamin Magalong.

Diwata Chairwoman Ambassador Delia Domingo-Albert coordinated with the Office of Mayor Magalong for Diwata to organize and conduct the planting of bougainvilleas within the City. A minimum of 500 bougainvillea plants are estimated to be planted in Burnham Park, Session Road and in other parts of Baguio City. The ceremonial planting will be within the grounds of Burnham Park on the 19th of November at 3pm.

The intention behind this activity is to make positive, tangible and permanent contributions to the continued beautification of Baguio City, which has been the host to PMSEA and ANMSEC for all these past years. Diwata has volunteered to handle all the necessary requirements to manage and conduct the said event. Invited attendees include Baguio’s very own Madame Arlene Saneo-Magalong, wife of Mayor Benjamin B. Magalong, who will be Diwata's guest of honor. Sponsors for the activity are Lepanto Consolidated Mining Company, OceanaGold (Philippines), Inc., Philex Mining Corporation, Filminera Resources Corporation, and SyCip, Gorres, Velayo & Co.

Diwata invites and welcomes all PMSEA ANSMEC attendees, friends and supporters to join the Bougainvillea Brigade. We hope to see you there!
