GPCCI, German Embassy Sustainability Forum Brings Climate Action to the Forefront

MANILA, Philippines – The German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI), in collaboration with the German Embassy Manila, is excited to announce the 2025 Sustainability Forum: The Green Economies of Tomorrow, taking place on 31 January 2025 in Manila.

This highly anticipated event will convene industry leaders, government officials, and sustainability advocates to tackle critical climate issues and uncover opportunities for sustainable growth in the Philippines. “We are delighted to provide this platform for innovation and collaboration,” said Marie Antoniette Mariano, President of GPCCI. “The event will explore opportunities in the Philippines not only in key sectors but also in creating green jobs that will drive our sustainable future.”

The forum will address key topics such as Climate Action, focusing on the Philippines’ Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs); Green Infrastructure, highlighting sustainable business solutions; and Green Jobs, exploring workforce development in a green economy.

The Sustainability Forum 2025 is aligned with the German Embassy Manila’s Climate Talks Manila, which is a talk series fosters climate justice collaboration, uniting stakeholders to address global challenges. The 2025 edition of the series will review COP29 outcomes.

“Germany remains steadfast in its commitment to climate action,” said Dr. David Klebs, Economic Counsellor of the German Embassy Manila. “I look forward to hearing diverse insights from the forum’s esteemed panelists and exploring actionable solutions to our shared challenges.” Key sessions of the Sustainability Forum 2025 include a keynote discussion on the Philippines' commitment to NDCs, with panelists from the Climate Change Commission, Planet 2050, United Nations Global Compact, and the Asian Development Bank.

The Green Infrastructure panel will feature representatives from the Department of Energy, Palafox Associates, and Siemens Inc., while the Green Jobs discussion will bring insights from the Department of Labor and Employment, Humble Sustainability, and other organizations.
