Nickel Asia climbs Fortune Southeast Asia 500 rankings

Nickel Asia Corp. (NAC), the country's largest producer of lateritic nickel ore, has secured a spot in the 2026 Fortune Southeast Asia 500 for the second consecutive year, improving its ranking as the company continues to expand its mining and renewable energy businesses.

In a statement, NAC said it ranked 453rd on this year's list, up from 492nd in 2025, after generating PHP 29.6 billion in revenue last year.

"We are honored to be included once again in the Fortune Southeast Asia 500 alongside many of the region's leading companies," NAC President and CEO Martin Antonio G. Zamora said.

"The opportunity to develop the country's natural resources is a privilege we take seriously, and this recognition reflects our commitment to continuously improving our operations while delivering value for our stakeholders and host communities," he added.

The Fortune Southeast Asia 500 ranks the region's largest companies based on revenue and highlights enterprises that contribute significantly to economic growth across Southeast Asia. This year's list included 42 Philippine companies, up from 40 in 2025 and 38 in the inaugural 2024 ranking.

NAC's inclusion underscores its position as one of the region's leading natural resource companies and reflects its focus on operational efficiency and sustainable growth.

The mining firm operates six producing mines in the Philippines and holds an interest in the Taganito High-Pressure Acid Leach project, one of the country's key nickel processing facilities. It also continues to invest in nickel, copper and gold projects that support industrial development and the global transition to cleaner energy.

Beyond mining, NAC has expanded into renewable energy through its subsidiary Emerging Power Inc., which is developing solar, wind and battery energy storage projects across the country.

The company said the latest recognition reflects the collective efforts of its employees, business partners, host communities and stakeholders.

"Recognition is meaningful when it reflects consistency," NAC said. "This milestone belongs to our employees, partners, host communities and stakeholders who continue to shape our journey."

Fortune said the Southeast Asia 500 serves as a snapshot of the region's largest companies by revenue and highlights sectors benefiting from long-term growth trends, including mining, electric vehicles and energy transition-related industries.

NAC is among 42 Philippine companies that made this year's ranking, reflecting the growing presence of Filipino firms among Southeast Asia's largest corporations.
