The Mines and Geosciences Bureau (MGB) Central Office has successfully completed its 2nd Surveillance Audit for the ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System (EMS), conducted by SGS Philippines Inc. on April 14–15, 2025. In addition, MGB-Central Office achieved recertification for ISO 9001:2015, awarded by ACS W3 Solutionz Management Consultancy on June 24, 2025.

The two-day audit verified MGB-Central Office’s continued compliance with international environmental management standards. SGS Philippines Inc. carried out a comprehensive assessment of MGB’s Environmental Management System, focusing on legal compliance, risk-based controls, and progress on previous audit findings.

The audit concluded with no major non-conformities, reaffirming MGB’s commitment to strong environmental governance. Auditors also noted several improvements in operational controls, internal documentation, and the monitoring of environmental aspects tied to MGB CO’s activities and services. These findings provide valuable input for enhancing the EMS and ensuring alignment with evolving standards and stakeholder expectations.

The surveillance audit is part of MGB’s three-year EMS certification cycle, serving as a key checkpoint to confirm that environmental management practices remain effective, responsive, and fully compliant with ISO 14001:2015 since 2019.

On June 24, 2025, MGB-Central Office was recertified for ISO 9001:2015 by ACS W3 Solutionz Management Consultancy. This milestone reflects the Bureau’s ongoing commitment to quality management, ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of services to stakeholders and the public since 2018.

These certifications underscore the Mines and Geosciences Bureau Central Office’s dedication to upholding international benchmarks in both environmental management and quality assurance. Moving forward, MGB will continue to strengthen its operational efficiency, environmental stewardship, and regulatory excellence.
