OceanaGold Philippines Inc. has turned over a two-storey multi-purpose building to Barangay Don Domingo Maddela in Bayombong, Nueva Vizcaya, providing a new community facility powered by renewable energy.
The building, which uses a hybrid solar system, is expected to benefit more than 1,000 residents by serving as a venue for community meetings, livelihood programs, youth activities and essential public services.
The solar installation allows the facility to reduce electricity costs, minimize outages and maintain operations even during power interruptions, supporting continuous service delivery.
The project also provides a dedicated space for barangay assemblies, training sessions and community programs, replacing the need for temporary or overcrowded venues.
With its upgraded structure and expanded capacity, the facility is designed to accommodate multiple activities simultaneously, improving efficiency and accessibility for residents.
The project was implemented in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Bayombong to ensure alignment with community needs and shared responsibility in managing the facility.
Located in Nueva Vizcaya, Barangay Don Domingo Maddela is expected to benefit from the improved infrastructure as part of broader efforts to support sustainable and community-driven development.
