The German-Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GPCCI) hosted the Conference on German Sustainable Energy Solutions – Industrial Efficiency & Clean Tech at Makati Diamond Residences on 24 March 2026. The conference is part of the business mission focused on German sustainable energy solutions, carried out under the German Energy Solutions Initiative and supported by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE).
The event is also a collaboration with Renewables Academy, the Energy Storage Systems Association (BVES), the Cold Chain Association of the Philippines, the Philippine Energy Efficiency Alliance, and the Renewable Energy Association of the Philippines
The conference is part of a business delegation to the Philippines from 23–27 March 2026, involving German SMEs specializing in energy solutions for industrial efficiency. The project is implemented by GPCCI in partnership with Renewables Academy (RENAC) under the German Energy Solutions Initiative, with support from BMWE.
GPCCI President, Ms. Marie Antoniette Mariano, welcomed the delegates, industry experts, and partners during the conference. The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Philippines, H.E. Dr. Andreas Michael Pfaffernoschke, gave an inspiring remarks, setting the tone for a day of knowledge sharing, collaboration, and innovation within the sector.
The event was well attended by 76 stakeholders, along with industry leaders, regulatory experts, and public sector representatives.
“Strong economic growth, rapid urbanization, and an expanding industrial base are driving a surge in demand for reliable, efficient, and sustainable energy systems” says GPCCI President Marie Antoniette Mariano “at the same time, the country has set ambitious goals, to expand renewable energy, improve efficiency, and strengthen long-term energy security.”
Sustainable Energy Solutions Market Outlook
The conference offered attendees some valuable insights into the Philippines as a potential growth market for industrial efficiency solutions. Department of Energy – Energy Utilization Management Bureau (EUMB) Director IV and Career Executive Service Officer II, Mr. Patrick T. Aquino, shared his perspectives on the country’s current energy landscape. He mentioned in his keynote address the Philippines as a potential growth market for industrial efficiency solutions.
He said, “We urgently call on everyone to do their part and seriously invest in energy efficiency and renewable energy solutions, especially as this is not a uniquely Philippine situation but a global one.”
“The sooner you deploy these solutions, the sooner you gain the benefits.”
