Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corporation (RTNMC) has successfully completed its Integrated Management System (IMS) surveillance audit, covering three international ISO standards, with zero non-conformity findings.
The surveillance audit was conducted from March 10 to 12, 2026 by TÜV NORD Philippines Inc., assessing the company’s compliance with ISO 9001:2015 for Quality Management Systems, ISO 14001:2015 for Environmental Management Systems, and ISO 45001:2018 for Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems.
RTNMC said the result reflects its continued commitment to maintaining high standards in quality management, environmental stewardship, and workplace health and safety.
The company attributed the achievement to the collective efforts of its departments and teams, including process owners, the IMS steering committee, document control representatives, and employees supporting the implementation of the management systems.
Rio Tuba Nickel Mining Corporation operates the Rio Tuba nickel mine in Barangay Rio Tuba, Bataraza, Palawan, one of the country’s major lateritic nickel producers. The company exports saprolite and limonite ore and also supplies limonite ore to the adjacent Coral Bay nickel processing plant.
RTNMC is a subsidiary of Nickel Asia Corporation and has been operating in the area since 1969, making it one of the oldest and largest nickel mining operations in the Philippines.
The company said the successful audit demonstrates the strength of its integrated management systems and its ongoing focus on teamwork and continuous improvement across operations.
