FCF Minerals Corp. reinforced its commitment to workplace safety and emergency preparedness by conducting a Disaster Preparedness Program for employees as part of the observance of National Disaster Resilience Month 2026.
Organized by the company's Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) Department, the program was held on July 27 under the national theme, "Naghahanda at Kumikilos Tungo sa Panatag na Bagong Pilipinas." The initiative aimed to strengthen employee awareness, preparedness and resilience in responding to emergencies.
FCF Minerals, a subsidiary of Canada's B2Gold Corp., operates the Runruno Gold Project in Quezon, Nueva Vizcaya. The mine is one of the Philippines' major gold producers and maintains occupational safety, environmental management and community development programs aligned with national regulations and international mining standards.
The event opened with team-based activities designed to promote safety awareness and collaboration, including a video challenge showcasing emergency response skills and a safety scavenger hunt that assessed workplace safety compliance.
Employees also attended a lecture on disaster risk management and emergency preparedness led by Senior Safety Officer Ronald Wayan, who discussed practical emergency response measures and the importance of preparedness in the workplace.
Representatives from each department completed a written assessment to evaluate their understanding of emergency preparedness concepts.
The program concluded with the presentation of cash prizes to competition winners and tokens of appreciation for participants.
FCF Minerals said the initiative reflects its ongoing commitment to strengthening a culture of safety and ensuring employees are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to respond effectively during emergencies, while supporting safe and responsible mining operations at the Runruno Gold Project.
