Greenstone Resources Corporation was recognized by the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Caraga with a Safety Milestone (SMILE) Award during the regional observance of the World Day for Safety and Health at Work on April 28 at the Balanghai Hotel and Convention Center.
The company was among 25 establishments honored during the event for achieving zero lost-time accidents while maintaining compliance with occupational safety and health standards.
According to DOLE Caraga, the SMILE Award is given to organizations that demonstrate strong workplace safety performance and sustained implementation of occupational safety and health (OSH) programs designed to prevent workplace accidents and injuries.
Greenstone’s Safety and Health Manager Aldrin B. Arieta and Safety Supervisor Chrissa Joy Polistico received the award on behalf of the company.
The company said the recognition reflected its commitment to labor standards compliance and proactive workplace safety measures in mining operations, which are considered among the country’s high-risk industries.
Greenstone added that the award highlighted the importance of cultivating a workplace culture centered on prevention, accountability and employee welfare.
The World Day for Safety and Health at Work is observed annually to promote the prevention of occupational accidents and diseases and to encourage stronger workplace safety practices across industries.
